Churchill offers rough draft transcripts to all of its clients. A rough draft represents the text captured by our digital reporters before it has been scoped or proofed. The best stenographic digital reporters in the world have an accuracy rate of 95%-99% and that rate is usually sustained for about five minutes. As a result, our rough drafts (as the name implies) are not perfect. They may contain minor spelling or syntax errors. That said, they are more than sufficient to utilize in preparing for hearing, drafting deposition summaries or using during subsequent depositions.
Here are some general rules to govern how you order your transcript:
- If you need to see the text as it is spoken then order a realtime digital reporter.
- If you need an urgent deposition that is error free, then order a next-day rush. It will be delivered in 24 hours or less.
- If you need a working copy that may have some typos, order a rough draft. It can usually be delivered in a few hours or less.
Communicate with our scheduling manager at the time your deposition is scheduled to convey your transcript needs. We can make the process as easy as possible and ensure that you get the product that you need in as little time as possible.
